    Design

    Knowledge Category: III.B.2. Produceability Review

    Functional Discipline: Quality

    ADLI Scale: III.B.2.

Process: Perform Manufacturability Review of Design

    Process Purpose:

Review engineering, process, and production requirements and assess such against the known capability of manufacturing/servicing to ensure the design can be produced. Aspects of the review include: ability to produce, cost to produce, and ability to produce with an appropriate level of quality.

    Supplier Emphasis:

Perform the manufacturability review with a focus on the supplier/partner base and its ability to consistently meet the design requirements. Focus of the manufacturability review with regards to supplier/partners is to understand if suppliers/partners can meet design requirements as well as identify if there might be alternative production methods which might require changes to the design.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Ability to review engineering, process, and production requirements and assess such against the known capability of manufacturing/servicing to ensure the design can be produced. Ability to evaluate the value-stream's ability to produce, quality cost to produce, and ability to produce with an appropriate level of quality. Ability to evaluate potential alternative production methods which might require changes to the design.
