Task: DP060-001
Design
Knowledge Category: IV.E. Metrology
Functional Discipline: Quality
ADLI Scale: IV.E.
Process: Determine Tool & Gage Design Requirements
Process Purpose:
Review regulatory, engineering, process, and production/servicing requirements (capability, maintainability, reliability, certification, and human factors) and determine requirements for design, production, and maintenance of tools and gages. This may include calibration and traceability (reference to primary standards) requirements.
Supplier Emphasis:
To the extent suppliers/partners design tools and gages, ensure they determine the appropriate requirements for regulatory, design, production, and maintenance of tools and gages. This may include calibration and traceability requirements.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Ability to review regulatory, engineering, process, and production/servicing requirements and determine requirements (capability, maintainability, reliability, certification, and human factors) for design, production, and maintenance of tools and gages. Ability to identify calibration and traceability (reference to primary standards) requirements. Ability to organize, document, store and integrate tooling and inspection gauging controls into the requirements hierarchy using a requirements management tool.
