    Process: Ensure Non-Destructive Test Sequences are Appropriately Applied

    Process Purpose: 

    Review work instructions, process planning, and quality records to ensure nondestructive testing is being performed at the appropriate points in production/servicing. The NDT process shall be documented in appropriate records and define the standards of reference and the limits of acceptance. Ensure the documentation of NDT results are accurately defined in applicable work instructions and quality records.

    Supplier Emphasis: 

    To the extent a supplier outsources NDT processes to sub-tier suppliers, ensure the supplier has a process for ensuring sub-tier suppliers have adequate processes in place to control the sequencing of NDT methods in work instructions, process planning, and quality records. Ensure sub-tier suppliers are accurately documenting the results of NDT evaluation in work instructions and quality records.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirements: 

    Ability to evaluate work instructions, process planning, and quality records to ensure nondestructive testing is being performed at the appropriate points in production/servicing. Ability to evaluate NDT process requirements to determine if appropriate records are established and standards of reference and the limits of acceptance are defined. Ability to evaluate certification requirements for NDT inspectors and validate that persons assigned to associated NDT responsibilities are appropriately certified. Ability to assess inspection records to validate that the documentation of NDT results are accurately defined in applicable work instructions and quality records.
