    Process Purpose: 

    For new suppliers/partners, or existing who are potentially assuming work for which they have no previous performance evidence, perform an evaluation at the points where value is added, which may include sub-tier suppliers. This evaluation is to determine if the supplier/partner is potentially qualified to participate in the present procurement. Scope of the evaluation may not be as extensive as full system or process approvals.

    Supplier Emphasis: 

    Evaluation may include project management capabilities, QMS, technical execution, NDT, and/or special processes. Special emphasis should be applied to sub-tier supplier control.

    Knowledge and Skills Requirements: 

    Ability to determine the scope of evaluation for new suppliers/partners, or existing who are potentially assuming work for which they have no previous performance evidence. Ability to perform an evaluation at the points where value is added, which may include sub-tier suppliers. Ability to assess compliance to requirements. Ability to assess work scope execution capability. Ability to assess supplier/partner capacity and identify future risks. Ability to document the results of supplier/partner pre-selection evaluation.
